Direct EU funding opportunities

Here is what you
need to know

  • What are direct EU funding opportunities?

    Access to finance

Direct EU funds present a so far un(der)tapped financing opportunity, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. By tapping into these funds, the private sector has a unique opportunity to find a new way to further enhance its competitiveness.

    Market expansion

Based on our experience, it is common in the Central and Eastern European private sector that they have been focusing on building partnerships on national level and often lack cross-border partnerships across Member States.

Direct EU funds can also help finance expanding activities to other Member States, by building cross-border partnerships. We walk you through the whole process and help you do that from A to Z.

  • What we can do for you

We constantly monitor direct EU funding opportunities across all relevant EU programmes (including, but not limited to Horizon Europe, LIFE, Innovation Fund, Creative Europe, Digital Europe) and inform our partners about relevant calls.

As most of these direct EU calls require consortia (partnership between at least 3 entities across at least 3 different Member States), we leverage and use our wide network in EU Member States and beyond to help find partners for these consortium.

Our objective is to ensure that a meaningful and successful partnership is built based on the initial project idea of our partner.

Blue Door Consulting covers all stages of the application process - from project preparation and development to the monitoring of relevant applications, as well as proposal writing, including consortium building with European partners - taking over the administrative burden from the partners.

  • Why choose us?

Our in-house expertise on EU affairs ensures that we are continuously keeping our pulse on relevant on-going (and future) policy and legislative developments on EU level.

This is essential so that we can better position project proposals within the framework of EU policy priorities, demonstrating how they will contribute to fulfilling and implementing relevant EU policy objectives.

We are located in the heart of Budapest within the vicinity of the offices of both Hungarian and other European companies - while maintaining strong links in Brussels as well.

We are primarily focusing on the private sector in Central and Eastern Europe and are happy to partner with a wide range of partners, including SMEs and corporations, as well as higher education institutions and research organisations.

Our strong understanding of both Central and Eastern Europe and Brussels is a valuable asset to help translate and fit project proposals into the framework required by these calls.

Our track record and successes

The biggest obstacles most of the stakeholders in Central and Eastern Europe face, including lack of knowledge about direct EU funding opportunities and limited European network. Here is how we have been helping to overcome these:

Building European (cross-border) partnerships through leveraging our strong network

〰️

Helping our partners join these European (cross-border) consortia

〰️

Supporting our partners throughout the whole process by developing the corresponding material for the application

〰️

Developing projects from the idea phase to project proposals

〰️

Finding the most suitable direct EU calls that best fit the project objectives

N.B. In case our partner already has a well-developed idea, then our cooperation starts with Step 3, when we look for suitable call(s), as well as start building consortia.
